And after her, came jolly June arrayed
All in green leaves, as he a player were;
Yet in his time, he wrought as well as played […].
Depictions of June by Edmund Spenser unchangeably encapsulate this time’s nature. Through use of personification, the author portrays June as vibrant and dynamic. Yet it is also a month abounded in industriousness and productivity. In the case of our school, we cannot disregard the timeless symbolism of June since it was filled with impressive events that, nevertheless, demanded considerable effort.
This month commenced with philanthropic action on the first day of June. It aimed at assisting Maks Podlejski in his struggle with an incurable disease. Therefore, a talent show as well as fairs with handmade crafts and cakes were organised with a view to raising substantial funds. The community of Frycz demonstrated remarkable solidarity and involvement in this noble initiative.

As the final month of an academic year, June combined symbolic events. In 2023, our school celebrates its 75th anniversary. Consequently, from the very beginning of the school year, we were looking forward to the 7th June and the planned celebrations scheduled for this day. The nearer June drew, the more detailed description of anniversary emerged, disclosing exceptionally diverse program. The celebration in the theatre consisted of portraying school’s history, some of which thrive to this day. In order to prove this statement, graduates of Frycz with artistic talents gave their performances at the stage. We had the opportunity to witness the skills of musicians and one band, all of which delivered a memorable dose of entertainment. The gala definitely breathed new life into the school with the focus on Frycz’s complexity and heritage.

Despite abundance of theatrical performances, this day presented further attractions. As we returned to the school, collective and community-driven activities took place. Main theme of the celebration in the school revolved around ‘50s and ‘60s years, since in this period our school flourished. Thus, polka dots and swing dresses as well as denim pieces populated outfits of students and teachers. The program featured students’ performances set to the musical classics of ‘50s and ‘60s. In addition, vintage-stylised cafes added the final touch to the ambience. The day concluded with a friendly match between teachers and students, marking a harmonious character of this event.
At the very end of June awaited the highly anticipated week of trips. It’s a cherished tradition that we embark on journeys to various destinations at a specific time of the year. Frycz’s community carefully selects travels of usually few days’ duration. Notably, an international trip to Prague took place this month, enriching Frycz’s students with a global perspective.
June undeniably passes with characteristic liveliness. The entire school community dedicated itself to the noble causes of the charitable action and commemoration of school’s creation. As a reward for the effort, we received trips to captivating spots. Ultimately, our final reward awaits in a form of well-deserved 2-month holidays.
