Next was November, he full gross and fat,
As fed with lard, and that right well might seem;
For he had been a-fatting hogs of late,
That yet his brows with sweat did reek and steam.
This extract from a 16th poem of a Spenser’s pen accents the importance of the past, specifically for the month November. It demonstrates how the fruits of previous month (in which hogs had been fattened) contributed to the current good (the food of lard). In a similar way we were able to celebrate in our school some past events which took place in November and as a result brought about contemporary prosperity.
For the occasion of 11th November MA Palińska organised an academy for the sake of 105th anniversary of Polish Independence. Her play highlighted the crucial parts of day-to-day life of 1920s society. In addition, our school corridors were crowded into gentlemen wearing tuxedos and ladies with pearls and dropped waists on dresses.

We celebrated the past in another way as well. On 30th of November fall the Saint Andrew’s Day and since a school patron is Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski, we used it as a chance to feast for our patron’s name day. In this year, however, the celebration didn’t take on the traditional appearance. School community dressed characteristically to the 16th century as to resemble an ambience of Frycz’s contemporaneity. Apart from that there were organised a number of competitions, for instance for an epigram/limerick or a cake. On this day we could get a glimpse of our patron’s surroundings and think about him in extraordinary categories.

The month November featured one more event worth noticing. In the night of 18th to 19th November school walls held a Night Marathon of Board Games. Such activities gather students with alike pastimes and give them a possibility to interact in a bigger community. The atmosphere during these events is especially memorable since right then the school plays a different role than usual.
November of 2022 drew our attention to the previous times. It also created a fundament on which interpersonal skills could be developed.
