Next him, September […]
heavy laden with the spoil
Of harvest’s riches, which he made his boot,
And him enriched with bounty of the soil.
Spenser in “The Mask of Mutability” depicts September as the tribute to the last months’ toil. It abounds in goods thanks to the thoughtful preparations. Similarly to XVIIth description September in our school also featured a few meaningful events.
The school year was traditionally opened in Rybnik’s Theatre. There students, with supervision of MA Katarzyna Nogły, performed a play about life of baron Münchausen. The event was embellished with music played by school’s talents and a lecture delivered by PhD Andrzej Boczarowski.
Later on, namely on 23rd September, our school hold a Day of Foreign Languages. The theme of this year’s event was France. Both students and teachers dressed characteristically to French style, so the stripes, berets and red elements dominated the school. On this day Frycz organised a fair with tarts and quiches. It was marked by internationality in terms of combining different culture – not only French or English but also Silesian one. On this day the competition of foreign song took place as well. The professionalism of this contest was proved by partially musically adept jury who later on gave their artistic performance. Most importantly though, school’s community could demonstrate its astonishing abilities and unite in a common experience.
2022’s September was rich in unforgettable events. First time since the global pandemic we could spectate performers in person and constitute an audience. Personally, for me this month soaked with sense of school unity.
